Working Mama and Traveling Toddler

This is my current view.

I walked the two glorious blocks from Chattanooga Magazine to the Downtown Public Library while I wait for the next issue to come off of the press.

Wait a second Samantha - I thought you were a stay-at-home-mama?

Well yes, I am. But today?

Today I am a freelance copy editor at my old stomping grounds; Little man and Kris are on their way to the Atlanta Airport to spend the weekend in Arkansas.

I may or may not have cried when I dropped them off. Jackson has never flown before and this will be the longest I have ever been away from him. I am so nervous that I can't even concentrate on the fact that I have three days to myself.

I am taking bets on long it will be until I get bored. If you want to follow along with the adventure check out #ToddlerTrip on Twitter!

  1. Enjoy your time to yourself. Hubby took Ting off for the weekend last Fall and I had the best time. When they got home I was energized and ready to be a great mommy again.

  2. Nice! I don't even know what I'd do with 3 days to myself. And please give me that skirt right now :)

    1. Target baby! It is actually too big now that I lost some baby weight but I love it so much I might attempt to take it in.

  3. I always feel like that time passes so slowly when I'm away from my son. Like I've got extra hours or something. Have fun girl!

  4. I am so thrilled to be on this journey with you! I will be following along living vicariously through you. 3 whole days (I would have cried at first, too), a job for a day and a cute outfit...I am so jealous!

  5. Enjoy some time to yourself! I cry every time I have to leave my little man somewhere for more than a day. I'm excited to see what next week brings :D Congratulations on almost hitting a year!!

    1. The magazine is actually where I worked pre-baby so it is nice to have kept a relationship with my old editor! I am excited to be writing for some money again!

  7. It's so hard to be away from them when they're so little! But hope you enjoy your "professional" time. :) Writing for money is always a good thing!
