Life Lately

Jackson got his first not-done-by-mama haircut and he was amazingly angelic. If only he was like that around 4 p.m. every day.
We woke up early to meet friends for breakfast as they drove past our town.
Clearly, Jackson was so excited to meet Bobby and Lacey that we were not driving fast enough for his taste and he tried to take over.
After almost three years - Kris' fraternity brother Bobby got to meet Jackson.
(He normally doesn't look like that - he had just left Bonaroo Music Festival hence the mustache.)
We also apparently now have a teenager not a 15-month-old. Little man's newest thing? Raising hell if he has to sit in his high chair. So, he eats at the table like a big boy. Blows. My. Mind.
Oh - and this happened. Anyone have a vehicle for sale?

  1. Ahoy Cap'n Sam! I must say I am in love with the theme of your blog! I have a dream of being a pirate that Halloween can not satisfy. ^o^ Well, congrats Baby Jackson on your very first professional haircut! I know how special this day is considering I have seen hundreds if not thousands of "first haircuts" being a hairstylist and all! It never gets old! I'm excited to plunge into the deep and read more of ye tales! May the winds be ever in your favor and your stock of rum be plenty!

  4. Congrats on the easy haircut! Sorry about the truck thing. Your Jackson sounds like my youngest - full of confidence and a cute smile to get by. Mine is 5 now, and we still like each other :-)

    1. The whole engine is kaput. Basically we could be a new car for the prize to fix the truck. Such a bummer!

  6. What a big, adorably cute little man, Jackson is! Sorry about the car. Such an added expense that no one needs. :(

  8. Okay, what is with the no high chair thing? My kids fight it too. I've given up at this point. It's easier to let them just sit than to deal with the tantrums.

  9. {Melinda} I remember my kids' first haircuts ... I still have the locks of hair, at least for the first child. You realize that you commemorate every single thing for the first one and after the second one, you're lucky to just get everybody dressed and fed in the mornings!

And word of advice: Put off those teen years as long as you can! :)

P.S. Your little guy is adorable.

    1. I kept his hair when I snipped it the first time but didn't this go around. I've already gotten worse about capturing memories the older he gets. I can only imagine how bad I will be when other kiddos come into the picture.

But man, the car thing sucks. Sorry you have to deal with that.
